Jenny Rigney

Position: Events and International Outreach Assistant

How long have you been involved with DG: Since August of 2006

Place of birth: Houston, Texas

Some favorite dead guys:  Adoniram Judson, Charles Spurgeon, C.S. Lewis, Martin Luther, John Owen, John Bunyan, Jim Elliot and John G. Paton.

Some favorites still among the living: My husband, my parents, John Piper, CJ Mahaney, Mark Driscoll, Brennan Manning, Donald Miller, and Matt Chandler.

Favorite Piper quote: "And the most fundamental thing we can say about God is that he is sovereign. So that is where I begin. I begin at the bottom, the root, the foundation of all we cherish, all the grace, all the love, all the patience, all the faithfulness, all the forgiveness, all the security and hope and peace and joy. All these things rest on the deep and glorious sovereignty of God. If God is not sovereign, he is not God, and all our hope is dashed." (Sermon, January 30, 2000)

Family information:  I was married on October 22, 2005 to Joey Rigney, who is currently a third year apprentice at The Bethlehem Institute. Both of our families live in Texas.

Ministry & Community Involvement other than DG: My husband and I are involved with The Bethlehem Institute and our weekly small group. Joe spends his extra time teaching TBI classes at Bethlehem and writing Study Guides for Desiring God. I am involved with TBI wives and the Titus 2 Woman’s ministry at Bethlehem.

On living in Minneapolis, Minnesota: I love it here! The weather is wonderful and I enjoy getting to see every season. In Texas we have summer and a hotter summer.

What do you enjoy most for refreshment?  Going on dates with my husband, spending time with our amazing small group and other friends we have met in Minneapolis, reading, going on walks, painting, decorating, cooking, cleaning, watching movies, playing board games, photography, exploring Minnesota, spending time with our families, listening to sermons, etc.
