Matt Lund
Position and description of what you do: Bookstore Manager – I spend most of my time managing the Bethlehem Baptist Church bookstore (I get to order all the great books!). In addition, I manage the Desiring God bookstore at our national and regional conferences. Let me know if you’ve got any good book recommendations!
How long have you been with DG? I started here in November of 2002 to help out during the Christmas rush. Don't tell anyone, but the Christmas rush ended in late December - and I'm still here.
Place of birth: Minneapolis, MN
Some favorite dead guys: C.H. Spurgeon, John Calvin, Martin Luther, C.S. Lewis, John Owen, A.W. Pink, John Flavel, Thomas Watson, the Puritans in general.
A Favorite Piper quote:
For God's beloved naught is vain,
God does not waste the gift of pain.
(Poem 1999- Mary Magdalene II)
Family Information: Single
On living in Minneapolis, Minnesota: It's just like living anywhere else . . .except, of course, if you go outside without a coat on you will die almost instantaneously.
What do you enjoy most for refreshment? I am most refreshed by getting to know God more through Bible study, reading, conversation, prayer, and the preaching of the Word. I especially enjoy reading the sermons of C.H. Spurgeon (big theology/big heart). The more I learn about God, the bigger He gets! The best moments in life are when God increases and I decrease.
Ministry involvement other than DG: I have been a part of various Bible studies, discipleship groups, and Christian book discussions filling different roles of leadership and administration. I especially enjoy passing on to other believers the things God has so graciously taught me.
