Let me first thank God for the ministry you are doing. It is great, and it is needed. I came across a copy of Dr. Piper's book, The Pleasures of God, in July 1997. I was then a student of statistics. My life and world and vision of God were never the same after that. The truth of the book gripped me, so much so that when the call to serve in full time ministry came three months later, I was not able to resist. I want to help proclaim the God with such pleasures! God then brought me to a copy of Future Grace. It was a well-timed grace indeed. I find your vision of the "supremacy of God in all things" delightfully right. I love it. My heart burns with it. And I have tried to share your vision—and joy!—to others in my own way. I want to grow and be nourished with the truth you are proclaiming.

I was in attendance at the Orlando Ligonier's Conference in June. I bought a copy of your book Desiring God. God has used you to say things I was sort of on the verge of grasping but would never have grasped except that you had put it together. I am 50 years old and God has now given me a desire to be a Christian Hedonist. God has used your book to kindle an entire new level of walk with God because of a new level of desiring God.

Dr. Piper has been mightily used by God to bless my growth. Know that the Joy and Glory of the Lord is being spread throughout China, many are influenced by his teachings.

I am nineteen years old and I just graduated from high school. I thank the Lord for the ministry of John Piper and the Desiring God organization. The Lord has used you to help me realize that God jealously wants to be my first passion and delight, and that in order for that to happen I must humbly come to him and ask him to turn me into a creature that fervently enjoys him. Because of the way that the Lord has changed my walk with Him through this truth, I have been directing all of my Christian friends to your ministry. I praise the Lord for you. Your friend for ever and ever in Christ.

I mainly wanted to share the impact that John Piper's new book, Legacy of Sovereign Joy, has had on me. It was like a breath of fresh air. But the big conviction has come from ... Doing Missions When To Die Is Gain... All I can say is it was very convicting and my prayer is that I live my life to the glory of God. I have not come to the point of deciding on missions or not. That would be a big leap for me. But the series was also encouraging and it whet my appetite to know my God more intimately. Thank you for all for all the hard work you do. Thank you to John Piper for sharing his heart for our Lord with the Body of Christ. This is not the first time that God has used this ministry to touch my life.

DG has been life changing for me as a women's Bible study leader in my church. It has given me clarity in understanding God-centeredness as opposed to the rampant man-centered teaching that many Christians have. I have a long way to go in my understanding, but I am so grateful for your ministry and am truly in awe of how God has anointed John Piper in his teaching ministry.

I am a charismatic but, when I heard John Piper's message on Job, I realized the error of the prosperity message and how God didn't get all the glory. I was fully blessed.

... Oneday [Conference] was my first exposure to Dr. Piper's teaching and it will certainly not be the last. When he told my generation not to buy the American dream, I wanted to stand up and applaud. God has so much more for us than mere wealth.

Words do little to describe what your ministry has meant to me personally over the last year. I pastor a small rural congregation in California. During the course of what has been a trying year, your materials have helped to steady and center my heart on God. Pastor John’s writings have been a window through which I have beheld (and do behold) the glory of God in an unimaginable way. The result: a life of profound joy!

I want to thank you for your ministry. God has enriched my life much through the biblical teaching of DG…It would take pages to tell you just how much my life has been impacted. I just finished reading Dr. Piper’s book, "Desiring God." I was very encouraged, but also convicted by his words. Several months ago my life verse became Psalm 37:4. I’m 16 years old and I was truly searching on what "desiring God" really meant. Dr. Piper’s book really helped to open my eyes, as also did my further study in God’s Word. I am a missionary in the Middle East and Dr. Piper’s "Desiring God" has radically changed by heart’s orientation. I have ordered another one because I am constantly encouraging people with the principles of "Christian Hedonism" but I am reluctant to give my copy out too widely. I use it constantly. I will use a new copy for lending and include DG contact details for people to order their own.

After sharing w/ a friend of mine that preaching tapes have played a significant part in God's drawing me closer to Himself and calling me to preach myself, he lent me a preaching tape of John Piper. I have never heard of Christian Hedonism until my encounter w/ this tape and later w/ 2 of his books. God has used him to open my eyes to the magnitude of reveling in His glory. After hearing his passion and teaching, I have adopted him as my foremost "living" teacher and have determined to study more of him and more like him.

I am writing to tell you that I have been listening to the "Passion for the Supremacy of God" messages over a two-week period. I keep rewinding and listen to them again. It is a life-changing message that made me mad at first but then when I looked what the Bible had to say about it, it made me understand what God is all about and it has given me an undying passion for Jesus. You see, months before I heard the tapes I asked God to show me what His glory was all about and through your message God showed me.

My Christian walk has been dry as of late and the messages in the Blazing Center DVD along with the discussions we held following have breathed new life into my relationship with Christ!!!! This IS the good news of the gospel. I've known this, but haven't been able to put my finger on it until now. All I can say is, "stoke the flame, you guys. Fan it, get the bellows out and fire it up!" May God be your greatest delight today and everyday.

I have been a student of Reformed theology long before I ever heard of John Piper or DG. This theology passed down from the early Protestant Reformation is beautiful and satisfying in that it displays the absolute sovereignty of God, and His relentless pursuit of His own glory. But unfortunately within many reformed circles…there is a tendency to rigid formalism that takes away from the happiness of God… I was vulnerable to this formalism before I heard my very first message from Dr. Piper [during a conference], and wept…and wept and wept. It was… called "God Glorified in His Providence." I weep upon listening to that message to this day, and I've heard it some nine to twelve times now. Well after hearing that first message I had to hear more of this man I knew nothing about. He held out to me something in that sermon no one…had before: a gloriously happy God who is my consummate satisfaction, and DELIGHTS to be so."

The Lord began dealing with my heart concerning missions, particularly frontier missions, beginning in the summer of 1997… To make a long story short, Desiring God pushed me to the brink of surrendering to full-time missions, Let the Nations Be Glad pushed me over the brink and now, by God's grace, the principles contained in Future Grace will keep me there. My family and I are willing to learn to "walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7) and "be content, whatever the circumstances" (Philippians 4:11) in a way that we've never had to before. We have applied for missionary training…and will hopefully begin training in August.

We were so encouraged to find your children's curriculum to be as we had expected God-honoring and (Christian) man-satisfying. Another aspect that we like about this curriculum is that it requires the teachers to be in the Word and first assume the role of the learner. This is so refreshing a change from the ready-made lessons that promise blatantly a painless and sweatless preparation and encourage the teachers of the youth of our churches to perpetuate devotion devoid of devotion.
