Life in the Spirit, Suffering Heirs of Christ - Romans 8:13-27

One of the most precious themes in the Bible is that Christians are children of God. “And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him” (Rom. 8:17). What is this suffering, and why must it precede glory? In this series John Piper explains how suffering is appointed for us in this life as a great mercy. Suffering is used by God to keep us from loving the world more than we should and to make us rely on God who raises the dead and gives us his Spirit to help us in our weakness.
