A God-Entranced Vision of All Things: Why We Need Jonathan Edwards 300 Years Later

This is John Piper’s Friday night keynote address at the Jonathan Edwards Conference.

No one in the last 300 years has seen more of heaven, more of hell, more of happiness, and more of holiness than the New England pastor and theologian Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758). His vision of God and Christian living are unsurpassed in grandeur, gravity, and gladness. If any man in the last three centuries is worthy of a God-centered, Christ exalting tribute, it is he.

This celebration of Jonathan Edwards’ God- Entranced vision was held on October 10-12, 2003, in Minneapolis, MN. The aim was not merely history, and not merely a man. The aim is passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples.
