A Plea for God-Centeredness in the Church

The supremacy of God is the theme of God. And if God is supreme in his own heart and planning and creation and Word, then surely he should be supreme in our sermons and prayers and worship events and missionary endeavors. One way to state the Christian gospel is this: God's tremendous passion to be glorified and every human's passion to be satisfied are not at odds. In prayer and in worship these two great passions come together as one because God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. That satisfaction comes to its consummation when it flows over to other people and they are drawn into the experience of it. Therefore preaching, local evangelism, and global evangelization necessarily flow out of a passion for the supremacy of God.
