The Purpose and Power of the Cross

Nothing is more crucial to our faith than the fact that Jesus Christ was crucified and raised from the dead. These two events prove that Christ has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. In this message, John Piper invites us to meditate on the crucifixion and the resurrection. Christ’s crucifixion was planned by God and is precious to all who believe. His resurrection was powerful and personal. Through it Christ extends the comforting promise, “Lo, I am with you always.” All of this was for the purpose of creating a people whose sins are forgiven, whose hearts are full of the love of God, and whose lives are spent in spreading the joyful truth of Christ.
