True Christianity: Inexpressible Joy in the Invisible Christ

True Christianity, according to John Piper, is like swimming upstream in a river of godlessness. Drifting with the current is easy—but it means facing judgment downstream. But we are not alone in this battle against the Christless current. God enables each stroke and gives us a picture of true faith in 1 Peter 1:8-9 so that we may check our progress and persevere. Using this text, Piper exhorts us to persevere, to love and trust Christ as our Treasure, to see with the eyes of our hearts the Savior of the Scripture, and to remain steadfast in joyful belief as we swim against the current.
