George Mueller (1805-1898) was—by all accounts—an extraordinary man. Without a salary, without loans, and without debt, he cared for over 10,000 orphans and prayed in millions of dollars—and never explicitly asked for a penny. Despite the death of two wives and four children, he taught us how to rejoice in God’s sovereign goodness and to make sure that our souls are happy in God. His entire life was designed to show that God is real, God answers prayer, and that God can be trusted with the practical affairs of life.
