“If only I had ________, I’d be happy.”
We have all felt this at some point in our lives. It’s the idea that we’ll discover the happiness we desire if we could only improve our circumstances. It’s actually what sparked the Women’s Movement in the 1960s, as Mary Kassian explains in this short video.
If women could just change their circumstances, if we could just get out of these traditional roles, “then we’d be happy.” But the fact is: women are not happier today. The happiness we long for is not “out there,” but it’s only found in a relationship with Jesus.
