John Piper was confronted with the reality of cancer early in his pastoral ministry. On August 17, 1980, Piper preached the sermon "Christ and Cancer," unfolding six affirmations toward a theology of suffering. Then, in 2006 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. During that time he wrote the article "Don't Waste Your Cancer."
This article has now been adapted into a 16-page booklet to serve the thousands who are afflicted with this sickness. Rooted in biblical truth and his personal experience, Piper lays out eleven ways how we could waste our cancer, and urges us not to.
