On Friday night, January 23, 1981, John Piper spoke to a group of young adults at a Bethlehem Baptist Church weekend retreat.

His topic? “How I Became a Christian Hedonist.”

This talk would eventually serve as the basis for his Introduction to Desiring God, also titled “How I Became a Christian Hedonist.” In fact, its content has changed very little since John originally delivered this message over 30 years ago.
