Several months ago, we began a series on how God is bringing about fruitful ministry through our expanding global partnerships. For the past 5 years, our team has been working to build collaborative relationships with individuals and organizations who are laboring in ministry fields outside of the United States. Our mission is Theological Famine Relief for the Global Church.

There are so many places around the world where the church has grown dramatically in numbers but is still in great need for solid, biblical teaching resources. We in the West so often have such an over-abundance of books, Internet, and media resources that we can’t possibly keep up. If your bookshelf looks like mine, it’s over-flowing. At the same time, literally millions of church leaders, particularly in the Global South, are lacking essential biblical training to shepherd their congregations.

The Lord has been opening amazing doors for us to help meet some of these needs. In the last 12 months alone, we’ve been able to distribute over 170,000 resources to partners in 111 countries.

In an effort to pull some of the encouraging stories together we have looked to Patti Richter to do some reporting for us. Patti is a Christian journalist and the writer of nearly two hundred published articles—feature stories, profiles, events and reviews.

She writes in her most recent story,

The East African nation of Uganda has a crisis, though not one we might suppose. The plight of AIDS, the number of orphans, wars and child abductions are continual threats to the well-being of this nominally Christian country. But behind these problems lie a dearth of leadership in the church. . . .
