The Original "Desiring God" Sermon Series

The Original "Desiring God" Sermon Series

Before it ever referred to a book or organization, "Desiring God" was the name of a sermon series preached by John Piper in the Fall of 1983.

The common theme in the series is what Piper controversially called "Christian Hedonism," a philosophy of life based on the biblical conviction that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. Piper wrote and preached the series in order to define Christian Hedonism and demonstrate how it is essential to the way Christians worship, pray, approach missions, handle money, and more.

Alongside the original English manuscripts, we now have translations of the entire "Desiring God" sermon series available in three additional languages. You can access these translations on the Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish versions of our website (which we highlighted last week).
