Matthew Y. Emerson

(PhD, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) is dean of the Hobbs College of Theology & Ministry, Floyd K. Clark Chair of Leadership, and professor of religion at Oklahoma Baptist University. He is the author of “He Descended to the Dead”: An Evangelical Theology of Holy Saturday (IVP Academic, 2019), The Story of Scripture: An Introduction to Biblical Theology (B&H Academic, 2017), Between the Cross and the Throne: The Book of Revelation (Lexham, 2015), and Christ and the New Creation: A Canonical Approach to the Theology of the New Testament (Wipf & Stock, 2013), as well as multiple articles and essays. He and his wife, Alicia, are both from Huntsville, AL. Married in 2006, they have five daughters and are both members at Frontline Church in Shawnee.
