Marshall Segal

Teacher, President & CEO

Marshall Segal serves as President & CEO of Desiring God, spearheading the team’s efforts to communicate biblical truth to millions worldwide. As the day-to-day ministry leader, he oversees and carries out the mission through executive leadership, teaching, fundraising, and public communication.

Alongside his role as President & CEO, Marshall writes and speaks often on behalf of the ministry, heralding the beauty of Christ especially to younger men and women spiritually adrift and searching for more. His book Not Yet Married casts a vision for navigating singleness and dating with clarity, joy, and God-honoring purpose. He has also written chapters for several other volumes — Designed for Joy, Happily Ever After, and Your Sorrow Will Turn to Joy — as well as more than four hundred articles.

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Marshall moved to Minneapolis and earned his Master of Divinity from Bethlehem College and Seminary. He has served in several roles since joining the team at Desiring God in 2012, including Executive Pastoral Assistant to John Piper, Teacher, and Managing Editor.

Marshall has been married to Faye since 2015, and they have three young children. They live in the Twin Cities, where Marshall serves as an elder at Cities Church.
