Left on our own, none of us would love God. In this lab, John Piper glories in the truth that love for God is a gift from God.
Some questions to ask as you read and study:
- Do we love God on our own, or is it a gift from God? How do you know?
- What difference does it make if our love for God is a gift instead of something we achieved on our own?
- Watch the lab. What is it that we see that increases our love for God? How can you gaze upon it this week?
Principles for Bible Reading
God gives us the words of men and women throughout history who have poured out their hearts before him. Some were persecuted, suffering, and broken over sin; others were confused, angry, and bereaved. The cries of God’s saints in his word match each season of life we find ourselves in. God has given them to us to nourish us, and to pray them back to him.
