Fullness of joy is not found at the altar, and pleasures forevermore are not waiting in the marriage bed. If we chase marriage for the happiness our hearts hunger for, we’ll be running forever.

We don’t need to get married to be happy, but we do need to fall in love. If single Christians find their first love in Jesus himself, they’ll know firsthand that happiness is not hidden away in marriage. And if they do get married one day, they’ll find more meaning and joy with their spouse than they ever could have by placing marriage above God.
