May I copy an electronic audio file (EAF) from the DG website and post it on my own website?

We do not allow the posting of DG EAFs (Electronic Audio Files) on other websites apart from written permission. To request permission to post an EAF on your website please email us and state your website, which message(s) you would like to post, and how long you plan on having the file posted. We obviously allow and encourage linking to the audio on our own website, www.desiringGod.org (see our instructions on linking, if needed).

Making our EAFs available online does incur significant expense. If the Lord has provided you a surplus of funds, prayerfully consider giving an occasional financial gift to DG to help support the ongoing work.

May I make copies of Desiring God’s electronic audio files (EAF) for my own use or to send to others?

If you want to make copies of a DG EAF (RealAudio, Media Player, MP3, etc.) for your own non-commercial, personal use or to give away to family and friends, go ahead! You don't need to ask our permission. We are thrilled to partner with you in spreading a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples. We only ask that you let people know about our website, www.desiringGOD.org.

Making these EAFs available online does incur significant expense. If you give copies of DG audio files away, and the Lord has provided you a surplus of funds, prayerfully consider giving an occasional financial gift to DG to help support the ongoing work.

We do not grant permission for the resale of DG or John Piper electronic audio files apart from a written contractual agreement.

May I use an excerpt or sound byte from a DG recording?

You must obtain prior permission from DG before you use a selected excerpt from a DG audio recording. We would like to know what you plan to use and how you plan to use it. The purpose for this is to avoid John Piper, or any other DG speaker, from being misinterpreted due to a statement being pulled out of its context. Email your permission request to mail@desiringGod.org.

May I make copies of DG tapes, CDs and DVDs?

If you want to make copies of DG CDs for your own personal, non-commercial use or to give away to family and friends, go ahead! You don't need to ask our permission. We are thrilled to partner with you in spreading a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples.

If you would like to copy any of our DVDs, please call for individual permission.

We do request that, if possible, you include on the label of the tape or disc 1) the name of the speaker, 2) the title of the message, 3) our name: "Desiring God ", 4) our website (www.desiringGod.org) and our toll-free number, "888-346-4700." and 5) “Copyright ____ (you fill in the year) John Piper. Used by Permission.”  We realize that this is not always necessary or possible; therefore it's our preference, not a requirement.

If you would like to duplicate and distribute more than 100 copies, please contact us and make us aware of your plans. More than anything, we love to know what the Lord is doing so we can pray for your effort!

If you intend to repackage any DG recording to give away, you need to first obtain permission from DG. Contact us at mail@desiringGod.org. Example: You plan to use your church's/organization's tape label or album cover format when you distribute the tapes.

Making these recordings available does incur expense. If you give copies of DG tapes or discs away, and the Lord has provided you a surplus of funds, prayerfully consider giving an occasional financial gift to DG to help support the ongoing work.

We do not grant permission for duplication and resale of DG or John Piper’s recordings apart from a written contractual agreement.
