Kristin Tabb

Position name: CDG Editorial Assistant

What do you do at Desiring God? I am in the process of producing a version of our curriculum that uses the English Standard Version of the Bible so that we can offer both this and the NIV version to our customers. I also wear various other “hats” at times, including administrative tasks, biblical research for our authors, and miscellaneous other projects.

How long have you been involved with DG? I began working at DG officially in January 2006.

Place of birth: San Diego, CA – so, paradise

Favorite writers: Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, Christina Rossetti, Sharon James, N.T. Wright, Sam Storms, Paul David Tripp, David Powlison, Charles Spurgeon, Jonathon Edwards, C.S. Lewis – I haven’t quite graduated to Dostoevsky and John Owen yet!

Favorite John Piper quote: “All that God promises to be for us in Jesus stands over against what sin promises to be for us without him.” Future Grace, p. 10.

Family information: My dear husband is Brian Tabb – he’s attending The Bethlehem Institute currently. I have two great sets of parents (Brian’s and mine), and five siblings (some through marriage), and an adorable dog nephew named Mugsy – plus extended family.

On living in Minneapolis, Minnesota: It’s better than I thought it would be, because it’s the Midwestern city that most reminds me of San Diego (except for the frigid temperatures): it’s very outdoorsy and I love the fact that there are lakes in the middle of high rises here. It’s got a little bit of an organic, “earthy” feel to it, which inspired me to start a garden of my own last year for both vegetables and flowers. It’s also a pretty artsy city. The unique architecture is mostly from previous centuries (including our home, which was built in 1910) so the city has a historic, eclectic feel to it. I like the health conscious voters as well, who have outlawed smoking in public places here.

What do you enjoy most for refreshment? Spending time with and traveling with my husband, enjoying fellowship with our small group and other friends here, playing the piano/singing, reading, writing, cooking, gardening, and photography

Ministry involvement other than DG: I am involved in the Junior High ministry at Bethlehem and occasionally help my husband at the homeless shelter where he works. Brian and I are participating in the missions training program at our church – I look forward being more involved with that.
