Help Us End Strong in Weak Times
The current global financial crisis underscores the importance of making gospel-spreading resources available for free. People’s access to the preaching of the gospel should not be hindered because of an economic recession.
In these uncertain times our resolve at Desiring God has increased to
- make as many of our resources as possible free online,
- offer a whatever-you-can-afford policy for the products we sell and our conferences, and
- freely distribute resources throughout the two-thirds world and to prisoners.
A Request for Your Prayers and Financial Help
Like many families, churches, and ministry organizations, we’re experiencing financial challenges. We’ve adjusted our budget through this difficult year and have been careful with spending, while trying not to under-fund outreach efforts and the personnel necessary to carry them out. But if current trends continue, we will experience a loss for the year of around $400,000.
Our intention was to build staffing capacity this year in order to respond to the increasing requests for resources and new spreading opportunities. But if we end the year with this level of loss, we will not be in a position to respond as we had hoped.
Would you pray with us that
- the Lord would increase the number of friends who financially support Desiring God, and
- that he would give us wisdom to make the right decisions?
And if you haven’t supported DG for awhile, would you prayerfully consider contributing to the mission of Desiring God and help us end strong in spite of a weak economic year? A gift of any size really does help us—by far, most of our support comes from gracious friends who give modest-sized gifts.
It is humbling to let you know about our need, but our confidence in this promise is unshaken:
“God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work…He who supplies seed for sowing and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Cor. 9:8, 10)
What God provides will abundantly meet our needs to carry out the plans he has for us.
From all of us at DG, thank you so much for reading and for your prayers.
