David Wells is the Andrew Mutch Distinguished Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Gordon-Conwell in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, and an ordained Congregational minister. He was born in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and studied architecture at the University of Cape Town. It was while at the University of Cape Town that he came to faith and sensed God’s call to Christian ministry. He went on to earn degrees from London University (B.D.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.Theo.), and the University of Manchester (D.Phil.). For ten years he taught at Trinity Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and then joined the faculty at Gordon-Conwell in 1979. Dr. Wells is widely respected for his writing and teaching on understanding the modern world from within the framework of biblical truth. He is the author of the well-known trilogy No Place for Truth, God in the Wasteland, and Losing Our Virtue; as well as his most recent publication, Above All Earthly Pow’rs: Christ in a Postmodern World. Dr. Wells works with the Langham Foundation to provide theological education for third-world leaders and basic preaching tools for third-world pastors. He is married to Jane and has two grown sons.

Mark Driscoll is founder and Lead Pastor at Mars Hill Church in Seattle, one of the nation’s fastest growing churches in one of America’s least churched cities. He graduated with a B.A. in Speech Communications in 1993, and is currently completing an M.A. in Exegetical Theology at Western Seminary. He co-founded and is President of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network, which has planted over 100 churches in the U.S. and internationally, and most recently he founded and leads the Resurgence Missional Theology Cooperative. His is author of The Radical Reformission: Reaching Out Without Selling Out and Confessions of a Reformission Rev: Hard Lessons from an Emerging Missional Church. He is also a staff columnist for the Seattle Times, Rev! magazine, and The Church Report. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Grace, and is the father of three sons and two daughters.

Voddie Baucham is an author, Bible teacher, churchman, and apologist. His unique blend of sound biblical exposition and cutting-edge relevance make him one of the most unique and compelling voices in modern evangelical circles. Born in Los Angeles, California, Voddie did not hear the gospel until his freshman year in college at Rice University. During his senior year, Voddie left Rice University to pursue theological training at Houston Baptist University, where he received a Bachelors degree in Christianity and Sociology. From there he earned a Masters degree from Southwestern Seminary, and a Doctorate from Southeastern Seminary. Dr. Baucham currently serves as an elder at Grace Community Church in Magnolia, Texas. He is an adjunct professor at The College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas, and Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He is the author of The Ever Loving Truth, a book which helps twenty-first century Christians apply God’s Word to contemporary life. Voddie and his wife, Bridget, have three children, and currently live in Spring, Texas.

Tim Keller grew up in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, where he attended Bucknell University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and the Westminster Theological Seminary. Dr. Keller came to faith during his university years through the ministry of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. His ministry experience began by serving with Inter-Varsity for three years, and then serving as pastor for nine years in Virginia. During that time, Dr. Keller also served as director of church planting for the PCA in the Mid-Atlantic region, supervising the development of two dozen new congregations. In the mid-1980’s, Keller served on the faculty of Westminster Seminary and wrote two books: Resources for Deacons and Ministries of Mercy: The Call of the Jericho Road. In 1989, the Kellers moved to New York City to plant what is now Redeemer Presbyterian Church, which reaches Manhattan professionals from many diverse occupations and cultural backgrounds. Tim and his wife, Kathy, have three sons and live on Roosevelt Island in New York.

Donald A. (D.A.) Carson is research professor of the New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in Deerfield, Illinois. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from McGill University, an M.Div. from Central Baptist Seminary in Toronto, and a Ph.D. in New Testament from the University of Cambridge. He is the founding chair of The GRAMCORD Institute, a research and educational institution designed to develop and promote computer-related tools for Bible research, focusing especially on the original languages. Dr. Carson is an expert in the areas of biblical theology, the historical Jesus, Postmodernism, pluralism, Greek grammar, Johannine theology, Pauline theology, and questions of suffering and evil. A prolific author, Carson has written or edited more than 45 books. Some of his best-known works include The Gospel According to John, A Call to Spiritual Reformation, and New Testament Commentary Survey. Don and his wife, Joy, reside in Libertyville, Illinois, and have two children.

John Piper is Pastor for Preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and studied at Wheaton College, where he first sensed God’s call to enter the ministry. He went on to earn degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary (B.D.) and the University of Munich (D.Theol.). For six years he taught Biblical Studies at Bethel College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and in 1980 accepted Bethlehem Baptist’s call to serve as pastor. Dr. Piper has written, among other books, Desiring God; Don’t Waste Your Life; When I Don’t Desire God; and God Is the Gospel. He is married to Noël and has four sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren.
