The Power of Words and the Wonder of God
Desiring God 2008 National Conference

From September 26-28, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, over 3,300 people came together to consider "The Power of Words and the Wonder of God." In those three days attendees worshiped and listened and encouraged each other as they focused on the life-giving and life-destroying power of words. We heard from Sinclair Ferguson, Bob Kauflin, Mark Driscoll, Dan Taylor, Paul Tripp, and John Piper. Each one helped point us to Christ and the sufficiency of the Gospel. God was exalted and people were blessed through the preaching, the Q&A sessions, corporate worship, the bookstore, and times of fellowship. It was wonderful to stand alongside so many God-centered volunteers who served with humility, patience, and in the strength which God supplied. We could not have held the conference without them.

As we seek to live out all that we heard, may the Lord cause the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts to be acceptable in his sight.
