Speakers

John Piper is Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and studied at Wheaton College, where he first sensed God’s call to enter the ministry. He went on to earn degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary (B.D.) and the University of Munich (D.Theol.).

For six years he taught Biblical Studies at Bethel College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and in 1980 accepted the call to serve as pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He has written, among other books, Desiring God, Don’t Waste Your Life, God Is the Gospel, and What Jesus Demands from the World.

He is married to Noël and has four sons and a daughter.

Mark Driscoll is founder and Lead Pastor at Mars Hill Church in Seattle, one of America’s fastest growing churches in one of the nation’s least churched cities.

He graduated with a B.A. in Speech Communications in 1993 and is currently completing an M.A. in Exegetical Theology at Western Seminary.

He co-founded and is President of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network, which has planted over 100 churches in the U.S. and internationally, and most recently he founded and leads the Resurgence Missional Theology Cooperative.

He is author of The Radical Reformission, Confessions of a Reformission Rev, and Vintage Jesus.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Grace, and is the father of three sons and two daughters.

Bob Kauflin serves as Director of Worship Development for Sovereign Grace Ministries.

In 1976 he received a piano performance degree from Temple University after which he traveled for eight years with the contemporary Christian group GLAD as a songwriter, speaker, and arranger.

In 1991, he helped to plant what is now CrossWay Community Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Six years later, after twelve years of pastoring, he moved to Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to equip pastors and musicians in the theology and practice of congregational worship.

He contributed to Sovereign Grace recordings, including Upward: The Bob Kauflin Hymns Project, Worship God Live, and Valley of Vision.

He leads worship at Covenant Life Church, blogs at Worship Matters, and has recently authored Worship Matters: Leading Others to Encounter the Greatness of God. He is married to Julie and has six children.

Sinclair Ferguson is a Scottish theologian known for his teaching, writing, and editorial work.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen and was a minister in the Church of Scotland from 1971 to 2005. Currently, he is Senior Minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina. He is Distinguished Visiting Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. He has also taught at other reformed protestant seminaries, including Reformed Theological Seminary.

A prolific author, Dr. Ferguson’s numerous books include In Christ Alone: Reflections on the Heart of the Gospel, Taking the Christian Life Seriously, Grow in Grace, John Owen on the Christian Life, Healthy Christian Growth, and The Big Book of Questions and Answers.

He is also a council member of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals.

He is married to Dorothy and has four grown children.

Paul Tripp is a counselor, teacher, speaker, and writer, with extensive pastoral experience.

He is the president of Paul Tripp Ministries, a nonprofit organization whose mission statement is "Connecting the transforming power of Jesus Christ to everyday life."

He earned his M.Div. from Philadelphia Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Westminster Theological Seminary.

He serves on the pastoral staff of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is adjunct professor at Westminster Theological Seminary, and is adjunct faculty at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation.

He is the author of several books on Christian living, including Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands, War of Words: Getting to the Heart of Our Communication Struggles, Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens, Lost in the Middle: Midlife and the Grace of God, and Quest for More.

He and his wife, Luella, reside in Philadelphia and have four grown children.

Daniel Taylor is a professor of literature and writing at Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

He holds a Ph.D from Emory University and is the author of six books: The Myth of Certainty, Letters to My Children, Tell Me A Story: The Life-Shaping Power of Our Stories, and, most recently, In Search of Sacred Places: Looking for Wisdom on Celtic Holy Islands.

He is also contributing editor of Books and Culture, and a frequent speaker at conferences, colleges, retreats, and churches on a variety of topics.

He is also co-founder of The Legacy Center, an organization devoted to helping individuals and organizations identify and preserve the values and stories that have shaped their lives.  

He and his wife Jayne have four children.
