The Pastor, the People, and the Pursuit of Joy: The Apostolic Aim of Pastoral Ministry

Desiring God 2010 Conference for Pastors

On February 1-3, over 1400 pastors from around the world tasted afresh the goodness and mercy of the Lord during the Desiring God 2010 Conference for Pastors. We were greatly blessed through the teaching ministry of Sam Storms, Eric Mason, Bob Blincoe and John Piper (whose biographical message was on C. S. Lewis). This was the 23rd annual conference, and it again proved to be a wonderful time of encouragement, fellowship, and heart-probing teaching for the men attending. Be encouraged by comments from some of the pastors:

"You don't know me. And you couldn't know my story. But you preached directly to my life's situation. O, many thanks for following the Spirit and preaching such hear-penetrating Truth! God is good."

"The kindness of your staff and the hospitality that you showed was a huge blessing. I'm a bi-vocational pastor and it was so wonderful to see your joy amidst all the amazing ways you served me. Thank God for you!"

"The Lord is GOOD! I was deeply convicted, but deeply encouraged through this event. The love of God was shed abroad in my heart through the singing and the preaching and fellowship. I go back to my church freshly reliant on the Gospel as the fuel of my joy in ministry. Praise the Lord!"

It was a great privilege to have so many God-besotted staff and volunteers to work behind-the-scenes. Their humility, patience, charity, and servant-heartedness are a wonderful testimony to the grace of Christ. It's a joy to serve with them each year.

May God glorify His goodness and magnify His mercy to all who attended.
