Future Grace

The Purifying Power of Living by Faith in Future Grace

What is future grace? It is all that God promises to be for us from this second on. Saving faith means being confident and satisfied in this ever- arriving future grace. This is why saving faith is also sanctifying faith. The power of sin's promise is broken by the power of a superior satisfaction; namely, faith in future grace. Gratitude for past grace was never meant to empower future obedience. Tomorrow's crisis demands tomorrow's grace. And faith that future grace will be there is the victory that overcomes the world. Future Grace contains 31 chapters - one for each day of the month - including practical chapters on how faith in future grace defeats anxiety, pride, shame, lust, despondency and more.

Thank You for Future Grace

I've been taking the guys in my small group through Future Grace, for the past year (1 section a month), and been reading, listening, consuming Dr. Piper's work on the side. It's totally changing the way I think and feel toward God and others, and for the first time in my 14+ yr. Christian walk, I am able to fight off a bondage to sin, with faith and joy, instead of miserable suffering and pleading to God which didn't grant much victory. To see how I have relied on the flesh and live with a legalistic mindset, which I knew was wrong, but didn't realize I was doing it, and now have hope and to feel excitement in drawing near to God and trusting His promises instead of a vague/generalized truth is mind-blowing. I'm loving it. Thank you and everybody involved. God's glory truly is beautiful.

My Vision of God Has Never Been the Same

Let me first thank God for the ministry you are doing. It is great, and it is needed. I came across a copy of Dr. Piper's book, The Pleasures of God, in July 1997. I was then a student of statistics. My life and world and vision of God were never the same after that. The truth of the book gripped me, so much so that when the call to serve in full time ministry came three months later, I was not able to resist. I want to help proclaim the God with such pleasures! God then brought me to a copy of Future Grace. It was a well-timed grace indeed. I find your vision of the "supremacy of God in all things" delightfully right. I love it. My heart burns with it. And I have tried to share your vision—and joy!—to others in my own way. I want to grow and be nourished with the truth you are proclaiming.

Going Into Missions

The Lord began dealing with my heart concerning missions, particularly frontier missions, beginning in the summer of 1997… To make a long story short, Desiring God pushed me to the brink of surrendering to full-time missions, Let the Nations Be Glad pushed me over the brink and now, by God's grace, the principles contained in Future Grace will keep me there. My family and I are willing to learn to "walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7) and "be content, whatever the circumstances" (Philippians 4:11) in a way that we've never had to before. We have applied for missionary training…and will hopefully begin training in August.
