David Powlison’s Publications
“Just when you think there is nothing more that can be said about this inscrutable personal problem, he sees it from a new angle, then another angle, and another.”
So wrote John Piper after hearing of David Powlison’s death on June 7, 2019. The two men had enjoyed a warm partnership in ministry over the years, collaborating in several conferences beginning in 2001. In 2006, when both Piper and Powlison were dealing with prostate cancer, they even cowrote an article together called “Ten Ways Not to Waste Your Cancer.”
Along the way, “he helped me see, again and again,” Piper wrote — through books and articles, messages and podcasts, interviews and videos.
The following bibliography is one effort to help others see more through Powlison’s remarkable ministry. Compiled by Shane Becker of Westminster Theological Seminary, the bibliography includes a total of 516 resources, listed chronologically under nine categories by the date of their first edition. All the books are linked to Amazon, and the articles are linked to PDFs available for purchase on their respective home pages. Further, nearly all of the messages, podcasts, blogs, and videos are linked with free access.
For an introduction and guide to some of the best of Powlison’s works, read Becker’s complementary article, “A Guide to Reading David Powlison.”
